Jorrybell Agoto

Biography

Jorybell Agoto is a Filipina actress who rose to prominence with her starring turn in the 2026 black comedy-drama *Filipiñana*, which served as the Philippines' submission for Best International Feature Film at the 99th Academy Awards. Her performance in that film cemented her standing as one of the country's most compelling young talents.

Before that breakthrough, Agoto earned critical recognition for her supporting work in the 2023 drama *When This Is All Over*, which brought her a nomination at the 2024 Gawad Urian Awards—widely regarded as the Philippines' premier critics' prize for cinema. The nod marked an early milestone in her career and signaled her ability to hold her own in emotionally demanding ensemble material.

Agoto's trajectory reflects a steady ascent from respected supporting player to leading lady, with her Academy-adjacent role in *Filipiñana* representing a career highlight. Her selection as the face of the Philippines' Oscar entry placed her on the international stage and underscored her range across both dramatic and darkly comedic registers. With a Gawad Urian nomination and a high-profile lead role already to her name, she remains a distinctive presence in contemporary Filipino film.
